How to get to Portmagee, County Kerry.Portmagee is easily reached by road, by rail (to Killarney) and by air to Shannon, Cork or Kerry Airport at Farranfore. There are flights every day from London and Dublin. If you're interested in making travel arrangements to Ireland, here are some links to other sites which might interest you.
The table below outlines the main points of entry to the country and distances and approximate travel times by car. On Irish roads, you'll find that numbers are far smaller than they actually are. We've added approximate travel time for driving to Portmagee.
Part of the reason for why it might take longer than you're used to is the endless parade of breathtaking scenery on the way here, particularly on the Ring of Kerry, and also the fact that Irish pubs are exceptionally magnetic to local and touist alike. Of course there aren't too many autobahnen here either. If you are planning on driving, remember, Ireland is about enjoying where you are, not rushing to be somewhere else, so ease off the accelerator and enjoy the journey.
