Portmagee is a very small village so we're hard to miss. But, just in case, drive past the parking area beside the bridge around the corner into the village's main street. Driving to Portmagee, County Kerry.

The table below outlines the main points of entry to the country and distances and approximate travel times by car. You'll notice that, although the distances in miles are quite small, the travel times can be relatively long in some instances.

Part of the reason for why it might take longer than you're used to is the endless parade of breathtaking scenery on the way here, particularly on the Ring of Kerry, and also the fact that Irish pubs are exceptionally magnetic to local and tourist alike. Of course there aren't too many autobahnen here either. If you are planning on driving, remember, Ireland is about enjoying where you are, not rushing to be somewhere else, so ease off the accelerator and enjoy the journey.
