  • Scenic Skellig Ring - The snug scenic ring off of the Ring of Kerry incorporating Portmagee, Ballingskelligs and Valentia Island.

The Skelligs Rocks

One of the most mysterious and enchanting of our local attractions is the Skellig Rocks. These floating pyramids of sandstone have been home to some of the earliest monastic settlements in Ireland as well as providing sanctuary to fantastic numbers of birdlife in the area. "The Skellig Experience" Heritage Centre just over the bridge in Valentia, covers the Skelligs' fascinating history and ecology.

A visit is a must and boat trips to the rock are available every Summer from April to late September, depending on weather conditions. Trips cost approximately €35 per person.
