The Moorings in Portmagee is open all year round and we have put together some ideas on what to do when visiting our delightful little village of Portmagee.

SKELLIG COAST EXPERIENCE

Journey from Portmagee to view Skellig Michael and Monk Trails at Ballinskelligs. View the sites used by Star Wars, inspired by the Monks, or have your own Star Wars experience at The Moorings, Portmagee. Embark upon a journey of self-discovery like no other as you find inspiration along the holy trails and sacred sites of the Skellig Coast.

SKELLIG RING

The road of the Skellig Ring is dictated to by the land and as such it winds, dips, pivots and admits only cars, meaning it is strictly off the coach tour itinerary. On the road between Portmagee and Ballingskelligs you will pass through St Finian’s Bay. The distance between St Finian’s Bay and Portmagee leads you across the top of the Kerry Cliffs where you can climb for stunning views out to the Skelligs, across to the Dingle Peninsula and inland to the Iveragh mountains.

SKELLIGS CHOCOLATE FACTORY

The Skellig Chocolate Factory, offers tours, free samples and plenty of opportunity for tasty holiday gifts.

COIS CUAIN GIFT SHOP

The gift shop is located next to The Moorings where locally sourced and designed products play an important part in our collection. This includes our very popular, handmade Skellig soaps, Valentia candles, photographs, Prints, Books, Handmade Skellig chocolates, Skellig Pottery ceramics and for those with a sweet tooth, our delicious homemade creamy fudge.

LIVE MUSIC

Every Friday night we have live music in the Bridge Bar. Come along and enjoy our delicious bar menu, sip of pint of the black stuff or an Irish coffee by the open fire.
